Bio-Dynamic Agriculture

The deteriorating quality of our food is a major cause of modern physical and psychological weakness and illness. Large scale, profit driven monoculture and the increasing use of fertilisers, pesticides and other synthetic substances in agriculture progressively impoverish soils, seed and animal stock, and damage the natural environment. Bio-Dynamic Agriculture is a sustainable alternative that is based on, but goes beyond organic methods in that it uses specially potentised preparations to enliven, balance and build healthy soils. It has been proved effective also on large scale farms, particularly in Australia and Egypt. A number of farms in different parts of South Africa use, or are working toward this approach. Whole food markets and co-operatives, often at Waldorf schools, link producers of healthy food to consumers who recognise its value.
