Human Heart, Cosmic Heart
and the power of the Blood
by visiting physicist Dr David Auerbach
19.30 Wednesday 1 September 2010
David will talk about a battle raging in the
physiological research community about
aspects of blood flow and the heart. He
will then relate it to anthroposophical
research - to a more holistic conception –
of this organ.
David has a PhD in Physics - his passion is
flow and water in the context of life and the
other elements: fire, air, and earth. David led
the vortex dynamics group at the Max-Planck
Institute of Flow Research in Germany for
many years. He has done research at Universities
in America, Australia, Holland and Austria and
has published numerous articles in this area.
This presentation is geared to the lay person

The Mystery Dramas
This year is the 100th Anniversary of the first
of the four Mystery Dramas written by Rudolf Steiner:
The Portal of Initiation
These dramas were written to portray in artistic
form the spiritual path of self knowledge described
by Anthroposophy. These plays are not merely
symbolic but ‘spiritually realistic’ depictions.
For the next four years these plays are being
presented on the stage of the Great Hall in
The Goetheanum. Five of our Western Cape
members have just attended the first staging
and are filled to the brim with inspiration.
You are warmly invited to a sharing
of their experience on
Wednesday 15 September at 19.30
At the end of the evening we will discuss if,
how, and who would like to take up at least
the first play as part of our celebration of
its 100th anniversary. Possibilities so far are:
spending 5 or 6 Wednesday evenings reading
and discussing the play and separately or as a
follow up, a weekend workshop on 10 and 11
December enacting aspects of the play and
offering our attempt at our Social Sunday
on 12 December.
